I have been several updates to the Ski Club web site over the past couple of months that I encourage you to explore if you have not already.

The first change was the addition of a search bar at the bottom main page. This change was made in response to several people wanting access to pictures posted from past trips. Almost all of the pictures and articles since epoch are still available on the club web site. You can now go in and type in key words to search for pictures and trip reports from past trips or recipes from previous progressive dinners. One of the most popular pages within the club web site is a Sangria recipe by Tom Crawford that was posted several years ago. Go ahead and try it. Try typing Sangria in the search box.

The summer trips page for 2008 has been posted. Go and check out links to the wineries we will be visiting for the wine trip and the all of the activities in the area of the Root River bicycle trail for the bike trip this summer.

All of the 2007/2008 season winter trip reports and pictures are now posted. Bill Vahary provided me with tons of pictures from the New Years Trip, The Whistler Trip and The Whitefish Trip. I used my new computer with Photoshop to create Flash movie slide shows. If you view the Ski Club web site at work you may not have permission to view this type of content. You may also need to download Flash plug in for your browser to view the slide show. I have also posted VIDEO on the web site from New Years and Whitefish from Bill Vahary and video that I shot of the January 2nd curling outing. The videos from Bill are not very long and are quite entertaining find links to these at the top of the trip reports for New Years and Whitefish. The curling video is longer and shows rules of the game and playing our first game.

Lastly, we have been tinkering with a blog site as part of our web site to share information about upcoming trips and to communicate with other club members via the web site. I tried a blog for a short time on the web site that ran into problems. But a different site that Steve Parke recommended has been up and running for several months now and has worked great for the few people that have made postings. Blog sites are a very important part of other club web sites and on many club web sites the blog has become the main focus of the web site. I would like to encourage everyone to go to the blog site which can be accessed off the main page of the Ski Club web site register a user name on the site and make a posting either to an existing topic or create a new topic. Last month, Vice President Shirley Brantingham used the blog site to request feedback for a ski club summer clothing order. Other suggested uses of the blog site might be selling old equipment or trying to organize people together for a trip or even just to meet at a bar.
